Chez Vous – Restaurant and cocktail bar

Located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, not far from the famous Rue des Martyrs, Chez Vous is a restaurant / cocktail bar that celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019. An anniversary that marks its entry into a new era, especially since Majd Masri took over the reins. It was also on this occasion that I discovered the place, during its anniversary party, in fact. But it was later, in December 2019, that we went to test this spot with my favorite photographer during a lunch in the middle of the strikes (it’s the kind of context you don’t forget and which leaves an impression). Despite the circumstances, we had a very good time in this restaurant that gave us back our smiles during a somewhat gloomy period. Finally, I also went back with a friend in March 2022, and this time in the evening, to discover their tapas and cocktail menu.

The decor of the place sets the tone: a cozy sofa in the back, board games and books available on shelves, blockbuster posters on the walls, and a colorful fresco behind the bar—we are in a sort of gourmet flat-share with a very relaxed atmosphere. In short, Chez Vous is a place where you feel good, a bit like being at home!

In terms of food, at lunch, you’ll find creative dishes made with seasonal products, craft cocktails (the place offers a very nice menu of original cocktails with several homemade creations), and a lovely selection of natural wines. In the evening, the menu transforms around Mediterranean-inspired dishes, tapas-style, perfect for sharing.

To try for lunch:

  • For starters, we tried the rosemary panisses with a piquillo coulis (€8) and the onion soup with croutons (€8).
  • For the main course, I had the Crozets gratin with onion cream and parmesan (€14), and my favorite photographer had the duck breast from the Saint-Grat farm with sweet potato fries (€20).
  • Finally, for dessert, we shared a verrine with tapioca pearls, coconut milk, and citrus segments (€8). It was fresh and light, making it the perfect way to finish the meal without feeling heavy.

Regarding wine, we let Jérémy guide us for a successful food and wine pairing (wine by the glass between €6.50 and €12). I must say that the wine list is very interesting, with a selection of almost entirely natural wines, from both French and foreign origins, which is renewed every three months.

To try in the evening for the tapas menu: the plate of homemade fries with melted Taleggio cheese (€8); homemade croquetas with béchamel, button mushrooms, curry, and chorizo (€8); pollock accras with smoked condiment (€8); homemade split pea hummus with za’atar and batbout bread (€8); for dessert, the rosemary panna cotta with mango coulis (€7); as for the cocktail, I recommend the homemade Rosemary Garden creation, which I found very successful (€11).

Thank you to the Restaurant Chez Vous Paris for these invitations.
