Today on the blog, I’m sharing a rather special food theme with a selection of vegetarian restaurants in Paris that I’ve had the chance to test over the last few years. Please note, these restaurants aren’t necessarily vegan (even if you can find vegan dishes there), but they are indeed vegetarian. As usual, I plan to update this article regularly by adding my new discoveries over time.

Fellows
Fellows is the vegetarian pasta brand by Mehdi Favri, which now has 2 Parisian locations: one on the Right Bank and another on the Left Bank.
Fellows Saint-Germain
We discovered the veggie pasta taking Paris by storm at their new location opened on the Left Bank, housed in the Saint-Germain des Prés covered market. On the menu: homemade fresh pasta, an open kitchen with a pasta show, and large convivial tables. The menu, designed by Mehdi Favri, offers cuisine that is consistently veggie, creative, and above all, ultra feel-good—never moralizing, always comforting. In short, a great vegetarian spot (with vegan options as well) that’s truly delicious, and with very accessible prices, which is a nice bonus.
We started with the mushroom skewer (€7), which you absolutely must taste. We followed that with the olive cream and asparagus pizzette (€8). For the pasta, we loved the mafe version (€12), which was ultra-indulgent and well-seasoned. I also recommend trying the signature Fellows recipe: butter-cheese pasta with a smoked cheese emulsion and mustard pickles (€12). And honestly, the desserts are not to be missed, with the olive oil and sea salt chocolate mousse (€7) or the Basque-style cheesecake (€9).

La Sabicherie
La Sabicherie is the Parisian temple of the Sabich to go. The Sabich is a sandwich renowned for its combination of Oriental flavors, composed of fried eggplants, eggs, herb-roasted potatoes, tahini, amba, and cilantro sauces. To accompany this, you’ll also find hummus, labneh, homemade fries that are really super good, and for dessert, mahalabia with sesame or pistachio. Furthermore, following the success of the first shop opened on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine (the one we tested, located near Bastille), La Sabicherie has opened a new Parisian location in the heart of the 9th arrondissement. And when you taste it, you really understand the reason for their success: it’s truly delicious!

Fossette
Fossette is a small vegetarian canteen and caterer, located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. The place opened in March 2023 and offers a menu that changes every day according to the chef’s whims. On the agenda: an assortment of salads, starters, sandwiches, and tasty hot dishes like this veggie burger with bell pepper, eggplant, and fresh goat cheese, or even penne with truffle, green beans, and sugar snap peas. Regarding desserts, you’ll also find a nice selection, always at small prices, with a weekday lunch set menu including starter + main + dessert for €18. And the icing on the cake, the place is run by an adorable and passionate couple who welcomes you just like at home.

Copper Branch
This young Canadian restaurant brand offers 100% plant-based recipes and has recently arrived in France. Copper Branch is the pioneer of plant-based (and thus vegan) dining in Canada and offers 100% plant-based bowls, wraps, and burgers, with faux-mage, veggie patties, HappyVore steak, falafels, and even vegan cakes to finish the meal on a sweet note. The brand already has 6 restaurants in France. For my part, I went to discover the location set up near Montparnasse with my favorite photographer.

La Cantine de Sam
La Cantine de Sam is a small cozy cocoon located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris that offers healthy, 100% homemade vegetarian cuisine! Plus, you’re truly welcomed “like at home” by Sam, who is very warm and friendly. This small spot offers tasty vegetarian cuisine with ingredients chosen based on their vitamins and health benefits. I especially recommend the “Planche de la Cantine de Sam” (to share for two), which allows you to taste a bit of the house specialties (halloumi, kefta, latkes, falafels, fries…). There is also a very nice selection of homemade desserts.
You really feel like you’re in a little cozy cocoon at Sam’s. It’s very small but really cute! Service is very pleasant and warm, but you shouldn’t be in a rush (at the same time, there are only 2 people at a time for service and for the cooking), but it’s worth being patient! This place offers vegetarian cuisine that is good for your health, entirely made in-house and with love! The prices are relatively reasonable and accessible. Count €22 for the board to share, €12 for the bowls, between €13 and €15 for the burgers, and €4 for desserts.

Bonnard
Bonnard is a vegetarian restaurant located in the Marais in Paris that offers plant-based and gourmet cuisine in a neat and intimate setting. In the kitchen, chef Eliott Guigou works with products from short supply chains to create creative seasonal dishes around a very short menu (3 starters / 3 mains / 3 desserts). The address also has a lovely wine list that favors organic or biodynamic wines.
We tasted the beet rose, the pumpkin velouté, the cabbage in various forms, the butternut gnocchi, and for dessert, the rum baba with vanilla whipped cream (the chef’s signature dessert) or even this super light dark chocolate mousse.

Jimmy’s Street-Food (closed)
Jimmy’s Street-Food is a spot that offers plant-based and homemade street food. This porn-food and vegan restaurant opened its doors about a year ago in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. The place is super nice with some very cool street-art decor.
To taste: the dirty Mac’No Cheese (€11), macaroni with cheese and vegan bacon, super comforting; the Chezzy burger (€11), also 100% vegan, and its sweet potato fries (€4); the surprising wings (€9 for 6 pieces) made from jackfruit, whose texture is deceivingly similar to meat; and to wrap up, don’t miss the house’s Fat cookies (€4.50) which live up to their name. Vegan IPA beer (€6.50).

A novelty for the start of the 2023 school year, the brand also released a new Mac No Cheese brand available only for delivery: Mac N’Shine. We went back on-site in November 2023 to test 4 different recipes, which were still just as bluffing:
- The Red Mac No’ Cheese with macaroni, marinara tomato sauce, seitan (wheat protein), crispy onions, basil, and a very cheezy plant-based cheese sauce (€12.90)
- The Green Mac No’ Cheese with macaroni, pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, bacon (wheat protein), pickled onions, and a very cheezy plant-based cheese sauce (€12.90)
- Thai Mac No’ Cheese with macaroni, tenders (wheat protein), sriracha sauce (spicy), peanuts, pickled carrots, cilantro, and a very cheezy plant-based cheese sauce (€12.90)
- The Yellow Mac No’ Cheese with macaroni, tenders (wheat protein), curry-cilantro oil, raisins, and a very cheezy plant-based cheese sauce (€12.90)

Ora La Caserne (closed)
The vegetarian restaurant Ora is located in the heart of La Caserne (a former fire station), a hub of fashion and eco-responsible living in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. On the evening menu, this place offers a fiery atmosphere with a unique vegetarian menu at €52, which changes according to the seasons and is served live like a show on parchment paper placed right on the table, masterfully orchestrated by Chef Saayaan. I haven’t tested it, but I hear they also do a very nice vegetarian brunch on weekends!

Ora La Caserne
12 Rue Philippe de Girard, 75010 Paris
Price: unique menu at €52 in the evening / cocktails €14
Edit of 26/06/2024: the restaurant closed its doors and reopened a location in the Parc des Buttes Chaumont: Ora Farmhouse, a flexitarian variation of Ora!

Polichinelle (closed)
In 2020, we tested the Sunday brunch of this 100% vegetarian restaurant. This address is the brainchild of chefs Steve Burggraf and Christophe Michalak and is located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. On the menu for this all-you-can-eat brunch is a selection of vegetable recipes (cold starters, hot dishes), and for the sweet side, Christophe Michalak’s desserts, obviously (special mention for the incredible chocolate fondant, which is the best I have ever eaten in my life!!!!!)
Otherwise, everything else was super good, top-quality products, but we were just disappointed by the hot dishes (the pasta), which were below the rest of the meal for us… Well, anyway, there is so much to eat that you won’t be left wanting. By the way, a little advice, save room for the sweet stuff because it’s to die for (don’t forget to try the homemade hazelnut spread, another killer).
The little extra: the cool terrace for having brunch in the sun on nice days and depending on the weather.
