Launched in France in 1982, the Fête de la Musique, which has become a global event, is orchestrated every June 21st for the summer solstice in more than 110 countries, including around twenty in Europe.

This year, the big day of this 37th edition falls exactly on this Friday, June 21st! It’s the perfect opportunity to spend a lovely evening and enjoy music until the end of the night.

36h Festival at the Cathedral of Les Halles

The 36h Saint Eustache Festival invites you on June 20 and 21 to discover the best of the French scene and its rising stars at the Saint Eustache Church in Paris.

On the program: an exceptional marathon of 36 hours of free concerts, pop and electro with radio NOVA, agnès b, and ARTE. The most creative pop-electro bands of our time will collaborate with the Grand Organ to create a unique encounter between the sounds of the future and sacred heritage.

Army Museum (Musée de l’Armée)

On June 21, echoing the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings and the Liberation of Paris in August 1944, the grand Air Force band, under the baton of Claude Kesmaecker, and a saxophone ensemble will perform musical theater, opéra bouffe, jazz standards, and film scores.

On the program: On the Town and Piazzolla by L. Bernstein, Primavera Portina by J. Offenbach, excerpts from La Gaîté Parisienne by D. Milhaud, Suite Française by Haynes, That’s all by M. Jarre; music from the films The Longest Day and Is Paris Burning? will resonate in the Saint-Louis Cathedral, which usually hosts the Invalides musical season.

Palais de la Porte Dorée, Real Sounds of London Festival

To celebrate the Fête de la Musique and Windrush Day, the Palais de la Porte Dorée is hosting the Real Sounds of London festival. From reggae, soca, and afrobeat to jazz, funk, soul, grime, and house, Afro-Caribbean artists and musicians have significantly shaped club culture, broadcasting, and the music industry across the Channel. Organized by Muntu Arts and echoing the Paris-London exhibition.

Radio France

For the 37th edition of the Fête de la Musique, Radio France, a historic partner, is honoring all types of music. On the program: special broadcasts on air and exceptional public, free events at the Maison de la Radio, the Olympia, and even in Cenon in the Bordeaux suburbs.

The 130 musicians of Viva l’Orchestra will offer a free concert at the Radio France Auditorium with a very festive program.

National Archaeology Museum in Saint-Germain-en-Laye

On this day of festivities, the National Archaeology Museum will offer a free concert (subject to availability), produced by the Calliopé Ensemble to conclude the orchestra’s residency at the establishment: Enchanted Voices with soprano Shigeko Hata and composer Thierry Pecou.
