I told you about it last year and for the next 2 weekends, we are going to celebrate gardens with several events to encourage us to get outside.
But let’s not let last week’s bad weather get us down, and let’s take advantage of these events to reconnect with nature, flowers, and all that, by planning some bucolic weekends.
The 2014 Rendez-vous aux Jardins
This year, the 12th edition of the national event Rendez-vous aux jardins will take place on Friday, May 30th, Saturday, May 31st, and Sunday, June 1st, 2014 throughout France.
This event opens the doors for visitors to public or private gardens, protected as historical monuments in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Communication.
This meeting is an opportunity to attend workshops, participate in activities, and meet gardeners and owners of exceptional gardens in over 2,300 locations, parks, and gardens across metropolitan France and overseas territories.
This event is accessible to everyone and free for most activities, so don’t hesitate to visit the event’s website to see what’s happening near you!

Secrets de Jardins in Essonne
The gardens of Essonne are opening their doors from May 31st to June 8th, 2014 as part of Secrets de Jardins, an event that brings together a very wide diversity of green spaces with nearly 90 participating parks and gardens.
Iconic places to discover or rediscover: the parks of the Château de Courances or Chamarande, the Vilmorin and Segrez arboretums, artist gardens such as the Parc de Caillebotte or the Maison Littéraire de Victor-Hugo, the family gardens of Ris-Orangis, and many others… Not to mention the fifty or so private gardens that are as numerous as ever in participating.
On the agenda: exceptional visits, exhibitions, concerts, shows, children’s workshops, and some very beautiful encounters in perspective.

And then it is also the last weekend to enjoy the Parole de Jardiniers event in the Yvelines, which I told you about in a previous article.
