The 2nd edition of the Street Arts and Circus Festival in La Défense, organized by the Hauts-de-Seine General Council in co-production with Defacto, will be held on the La Défense esplanade starting tomorrow, Thursday, September 6th, through Saturday, September 8th, 2012.
For three days, La Défense will vibrate to the rhythm of this free festival, featuring a dozen internationally renowned street performance troupes that will bring the square and esplanade to life: Tibodypaint, Annibal et ses Eléphants, Pipototal, Les Bonimenteurs, Le Muscle, Alto, Midi 12, La BIP BIP (The Poetic Intervention Brigade for Breaking Flat Ideas), Le Cirque Baroque, and Pan.Optikum.
On the program: acrobats, musicians, dancers, brass bands, mysterious creatures, and a grand parade at nightfall that will take over the La Défense esplanade. The latter will be transformed into a gigantic open-air theater where monumental architecture meets the poetry of street arts.
The festival’s closing will be performed by the prestigious, internationally renowned company Pan Optikum on Saturday at 11:00 PM, featuring an opera spectacle blending singing, theater, acrobatics, and pyrotechnics.
