Le Quinze, a gourmet address and culinary hidden gem

Today I would like to tell you about a confidential and refined address located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris: the restaurant Le Quinze.

Confidential not because it intends to stay that way, but perhaps due to its location on a small, quiet street with little foot traffic, and also because of those bad Parisian habits that make us avoid crossing the city to discover a new chef—which is a real shame in this specific case!

Indeed, Lionel Flury’s restaurant is located in the Montparnasse neighborhood, surrounded by the famous Breton crêperies that have shaped the local gastronomy.

Lionel Flury, chef of the restaurant Le Quinze, in front of his establishment.Lionel Flury is a young chef (31 years old) originally from Alsace who, before opening his restaurant in 2010, trained at some of the most prestigious houses (Joël Robuchon, Guy Savoy, Yannick Alleno at Le Meurice, Eric Briffard,…).

His style: a selection of exceptional products (only fresh ingredients in his restaurant, I assure you, I had a lively conversation with him about it), and a play on textures and flavors.

Once through the door, you find yourself in a setting with sober, chic decor and a hushed, cozy atmosphere. In short, you feel right at home.

Needless to say, you are very well welcomed; the service is impeccable, as is often the case in establishments of this caliber, but there is also that little warm, almost family-like touch that immediately puts you at ease.

But that day, I didn’t come to test the gourmet restaurant; I came to discover the neighborhood’s best-kept secret: the Petit Quinze, which is actually located in the same venue as the gourmet restaurant.

Basically, instead of turning right upon entering, I went to sit on the left in a small section of 14 seats dedicated to more casual lunches and dinners on weekdays (and also faster, for those who don’t have 2 hours to linger at the table).

The Hidden Gem: the bistro and gourmet dishes come out of the same kitchen!

The Petit Quinze difference: the prices, of course, with 1 unique set menu for the bistro (which changes every day based on the market) including starter + main course + dessert for €25 at lunch (and €29 in the evening), an unbeatable quality-to-price ratio for the neighborhood!

Every day, the Petit Quinze offers a starter and a dessert served in different jars, while the main course is served in a slow-cooked casserole, which you can easily have seconds of (I dare you to finish the dish, we couldn’t even though there were two of us…).

To accompany this ultra-tasty bistronomic formula, a glass of wine of the day is also offered for tasting.

If you want to discover the gourmet side of the restaurant with a style that is both classic and modern, the prices remain affordable here as well:

  • Lunch menu/carte: €39
  • Dinner menu/carte: €48
  • Tasting menu: €80
