Mademoiselle Bon Plan’s Cultural Review (giveaway inside)

by Melle Bon Plan
Published: Updated:

This section is becoming a recurring one, I can feel it. At the same time, after collecting quite a few ideas for cultural outings, I really need to tell you about them in a short article that compiles my top picks of the moment.

Here is, once again, my cultural potpourri: concerts, comedy, theater, exhibitions, dance, so that everyone can find something they like. The only form of organization comes from my attempt (successful, I hope) to present them in a relatively chronological order, from the nearest to the furthest date.

And, I’ve saved a little surprise for you at the end of the post…

A massive bookstore hit (500,000 copies sold in over twenty countries), the text by Grégoire Delacourt—which triumphed at the Ciné 13 Théâtre and then at the Avignon Festival—is currently playing for 60 special performances at the Théâtre des Béliers Parisiens.

La Liste de mes envies (The List of My Desires) tells the simple and delicate story of Jocelyne, a haberdasher in Arras whose destiny suddenly changes after winning the lottery.

Free exhibition: Water on Mars

Exhibition poster for "L'eau sur Mars" by Eau de Paris, from March 14th to December 30th, 2014.

From March 14th to December 30th, 2014, Eau de Paris presents a unique scientific exhibition at the Pavillon de l’eau on the discovery of water on Mars.

The goal of this exhibition is to raise awareness among Parisians about the need to preserve water resources and the causes of their disappearance.

Designed for ages 10 and up, the “L’Eau sur Mars” (Water on Mars) exhibition allows you to imagine what the planet Mars might have looked like 4 billion years ago when it was covered in water, to wonder about the reasons for the disappearance of water in liquid form, and to discover the extraordinary scientific mission of the Curiosity rover.

De quoi j’ai l’air? Classical Music Show

Julie Fuchs singing while sitting on stairs, photo by Sabrina Salloum.

At barely 28, Julie Fuchs, who was just awarded the Victoire de la Musique Classique 2014, has become an interpreter sought after as much for her talent as for her stage presence.

In Montrouge, she will play every facet of her artistic personality in a unique show created in March 2013 at the Avignon Opera: De quoi j’ai l’air? (How Do I Look?)

Enthusiastic ingénue, uprooted soprano, future diva or muse… Julie Fuchs embodies opera characters to whom she gives life in a show full of energy and creativity, which spans the entire richness of the operatic universe.
