The annual calendar is well-defined; I realize this particularly now through the blog, with festivals, events, and traditions that tirelessly return on the same dates every year.
Some of these dates are eagerly awaited by some, while others dread the arrival of these hated celebrations like the plague. This is a bit the case for Valentine’s Day…
So here is a small selection of tips, free events set up for this celebration, plus some treats, to make the most of Wednesday, February 14, 2018, whether you are in a relationship or not. And as a little bonus, I have a contest in store for you at the end of this article…

For the record: Valentine’s Day dates back to the end of the Middle Ages. At the court of the King of England, February 14 was a celebration for singles, yes! Men would draw the name of a lady who would become their “Valentine,” and for one week, she would receive sweet notes. It was nice, wasn’t it?

Here are some photos of the Paris with heart(s) stroll that we had the chance to follow last year at the same time. It was very informative, and we learned plenty of juicy little anecdotes!

The Dark Valentine Night at the Manoir de Paris

If you really want to spend a Valentine’s Day like no other, I advise you to go to the Manoir de Paris, a place I am particularly fond of, for those who would like to shudder with fear for this special evening whose theme will be: Breakup, the time for exes to take revenge has arrived…
On the program: the Manoir route but in total darkness on Sunday, February 14 only from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Warning: thrills guaranteed…

Valentine’s Day at Vapiano
This Italian-Mediterranean restaurant chain (which I have already mentioned on the blog several times), is offering two limited edition langoustine recipes from February 12 to February 18, 2018: the “Langoustine Pasta” or the “Langoustine Risotto.”

The tip: on February 13 and 14, Vapiano is offering a glass of Prosecco with the purchase of one of these two dishes; it’s always good to know for a little romantic meal…

Give a Koclico floral box
Jean-François Michonneau
and his team offer floral compositions presented in pretty boxes through Koclico.fr. For Valentine’s Day, you have, for example, a very beautiful composition in a small suitcase (the malin-malette) Red of Pleasure (between 40 and 45 € depending on size).

The principle: the flowers are fresh and are stuck in floral foam soaked in water to keep them alive as long as possible. This foam must be watered every 2 to 3 days to keep the flowers for a few days (around ten days).
The plus point: the delivery of these floral boxes is done to your home, everywhere in France and within 24 hours, and you can personalize your gift with a message card.

Nicolas Feuillatte gives away a meal for 2 for Valentine’s Day

For Valentine’s Day, the brand is offering its concept to restaurateurs who will compose a Gourmet Champagne platter with a flute of Nicolas Feuillatte Rosé Champagne accompanied by three appetizers.
To celebrate this romantic meal, Nicolas Feuillatte and partner establishments will give customers the opportunity to participate in a photo contest (from February 14 to 18) which will allow 75 winners, by a drawing of lots, to win a dinner for 2 people.
To try your luck, simply post a photo on Instagram of your Valentine’s Day moment with the little extra touch: a small chair offered on the Gourmet Champagne platter by Nicolas Feuillatte, without forgetting the hashtags: #NicolasFeuillatte #SaintValentin.

A romantic dinner in the Bus Toqué
If you want to surprise your dearest, this restaurant bus with a panoramic roof offers a different experience by enjoying a gourmet meal while touring Paris.

The little extra: on each table, there is an audio/video/guide tablet in several languages to discover the history of Paris during the ride (museum, neighborhood, monument…).

The Bus Toqué offers 3 different routes in the capital and 4 different menus (starting at 59 €) including the Paris By Night dinner that we tested, the most expensive menu (89 €) with appetizer, starter, main course, cheese, and dessert (ride duration 2 hours). You can also, if you wish, add to this a food & wine pairing (additional 19 €) with 2 glasses of wine + mineral water + coffee, herbal tea or tea, or the food & champagne pairing (additional 29 €) which offers the same thing but with a glass of champagne for an aperitif as well.

As for the products, there is quality with duck foie gras from Rougié Sarlat, wines from the Cave du Louvre, and for dessert, we had a caramel éclair signed Eclair de Génie.

Just like the burger bus that I had already mentioned on the blog, I think this kind of concept is especially interesting for tourists (French or foreign) who want to discover the capital, and Parisians who want to see their city in a different way.
