For the fourth consecutive year, the Art History Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the National Institute of Art History, and the Château de Fontainebleau, will take place in Fontainebleau from Friday, May 30 to Sunday, June 1, 2014.
Completely free and designed as a hub for both the public and experts, these three days offer the chance to freely enjoy lectures, debates, concerts, exhibitions, screenings, readings, and meetings within the château and at various sites around the city of Fontainebleau.

This year, the festival is themed around “Collecting” and Switzerland is the guest country.
Numerous philosophers, historians, scientists, artists, playwrights, and more will come to share their passion for Art History with the public.
More than 330 completely free events make up the program for this new edition, offering over 3 days: lectures, round tables, performances, screenings, guided tours, workshops, and more, aimed at all audiences, particularly young people and families, thereby reinforcing the festival’s pedagogical dimension.
