If you’ve been following this blog for a little while, you must have noticed that I appreciate street food and that I have a particular love for burgers, a dish I have already dedicated several articles to (I’ve included this short list as a link at the end of this post).
Today I’m introducing two new great places that I recently tested on this theme: La Caravane Passe and 231 East Street.

La Caravane Passe
This address, nestled in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, at the foot of the Montmartre hill, offers an enticing program: burgers, music, and travel.
This small world burger bar, with a “World Food” twist, offers not only succulent burgers with global flavors, but also a setting with urban decor, all enhanced by Motown music.

On the menu, homemade burgers made with quality products: bread from artisan baker Gontran Cherrier, meat from Les Jumeaux, pastrami from Michel Khalifa,…
To try:
- The French burger (€13.90) with multigrain sesame and poppy seed bun, ground steak (beef or veal of your choice), forest-style pan-seared seasonal mushrooms, Morbier cheese, arugula. You can also accompany your burger with homemade fries (which are absolutely succulent!) and green salad (+€2).

- The American burger (€15.90) with multigrain sesame and poppy seed bun, ground steak (beef or veal of your choice), crispy pastrami, red onions, pickle slices, tomato, aged mimolette cheese.

- For dessert, we shared a panna cotta with a seasonal fruit marmalade (€5.90).

- To accompany the burgers, the establishment offers a great selection of craft and local beers (€6.20), as they come from the nearby Goutte d’Or brewery! Definitely worth trying if you are a fan.

The hot tip: the lunch menu with burger of your choice + side + soft drinks for €13.90

La Caravane Passe 100 rue Damremont, 75018 Paris open from Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM & 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM

231 East Street
This French burger chain, which has existed since 2011, draws its inspiration from the streets of New York, as its name refers to the address where Andy Warhol created The Factory.
The decor of the brand’s restaurants is arty with an urban fast-food design and a few objects in tribute to the founder of the Pop Art movement.

The products are high quality (French beef, Somerset cheddar, etc.), the buns were developed by Olivier Nasti, Best Craftsman of France (Meilleur Ouvrier de France), and the house cheesecake is by Elisabeth Biscarrat, grand winner of MasterChef 2011.
To try:
- The burgers (between €7.50 and €8.50) obviously, which are always prepared to order. They stick to classic recipes, hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon burger, chicken burger… but it’s well done! They can be accompanied by fresh fries (€2.50) cooked “a la minute” which are truly very good.

- For dessert, we didn’t have room for the famous house cheesecake (€4.20), so we opted for a small (well, that’s an understatement…) milkshake (€4.50).

- I also advise you to check out the beers (from €3.50) to go with your burger; personally, I am still a huge fan of Brooklyn.
Price: set menus at €12 and €14
