Chocolate pulls into the station

I’m a little late with this tip (but remember, I have a life and a day job, so please be indulgent), but I still wanted to tell you about it.

For 11 days, a cocoa-colored TGV will be traveling through train stations in the capital and the south of France to reveal the Secrets of Chocolate.

On board this rather special train, chocolate lovers can retrace the history of the cocoa bean, enjoy a chocolate bar for the foodies (with tastings, of course), and take part in numerous activities like a photo workshop where snapshots are printed on chocolate, or demonstrations of chocolate Santa Claus molding. And all of this is free!

From Thursday, November 29 until Tuesday, December 4, 2012, the train will be on the platforms of Parisian stations from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM:

  • Saturday, December 1 – Gare Saint-Lazare
  • Sunday, December 2 – Gare de Lyon
  • Monday, December 3 – Gare de l’Est
  • Tuesday, December 4 – Gare Montparnasse

The TGV will then be in the south of France from Monday, December 10 to Saturday, December 15, 2012:

  • Monday, December 10 from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM – Montpellier
  • Tuesday, December 11 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM – Toulouse Matabiau
  • Wednesday, December 12 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM – Narbonne
  • Thursday, December 13 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM – Perpignan
  • Friday, December 14 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM – Montpellier
