Every holiday brings its share of great tips and fun, free events for the general public.
Well, first of all, Candlemas is great because we get to eat crepes, but also because some brands spoil us for this special occasion by organizing related events (although I have noticed there are fewer than in previous years…). This year, this gourmet holiday is celebrated on Monday, February 2nd.

Nestlé Dessert and Tefal for a chocolate-filled Candlemas
Nestlé Dessert and Tefal, 2 essential brands in the world of baking, are teaming up in 2015 for the Candlemas holiday.

They are offering an exclusive “chocolatey” collection: a range of kitchen utensils in a limited edition with a unique design. The collection includes the essential crepe pan, as well as a cake tin, a springform pan, a baking sheet, and even a kitchen scale.

The great deal: from January 12th to February 21st, 2015, on purchases of €30 or more of Tefal products, an exclusive “Boîte de Choc” (Chocolate Box) is free! It contains 5 bars of Nestlé Dessert chocolate and 5 recipe cards.
This limited series has been available in stores since January 2015

Having a little tea time or a crepe party at home
Here is my small selection of products to enjoy at home while eating a few crepes.
- Spread your crepes with organic products from the family business Les Côteaux Nantais, especially their apple and caramel compote with Guérande sea salt.

- To replace Nutella, I recommend Nocciolata, the alternative organic spread without palm oil, and honestly, after testing it, I can say it’s to die for! Note that the brand also makes low-sugar organic jams…

- Reflets de France (a brand sold in Carrefour stores) offers local products like this Ardèche chestnut cream or cider.
- A newcomer to the range of ciders and perries made in Normandy is Sassy (which I mentioned in a previous article), an artisanal and 100% local product.
And personally, I am a fan of the sleek design of the bottle and the very cute (yes, I stand by that word!) 33cl size.

Price: starting from €2.70 for 33cl and €6.70 for 75cl for the cider, and from €2.90 for 33cl and €6.90 for 75cl for the perry
Where to find them:
Colette – 75001
Merci – 75003
Publicis Drugstore – 75008
La cave de Joël Robuchon – 75007
Julhès – 75010
The Paris Liquor Store – 75002- Pascal Caffet, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, offers 3 gourmet spreads (€12.10): Chocotartiné, Caramel with Guérande sea salt, and Chocopraliné.

- L’Épicurien spreads in Dark Chocolate Tonka Bean, Banana Chocolate, Praline Chocolate, or Choco Coconut.

All that’s left for me to do is wish you a very gourmet Candlemas, and if you are looking for a good crepe restaurant in Paris (for those who don’t have the courage to make the crepes themselves), I recommend this one.
