I had passed by this famous address in the west of Paris several times and had a burning desire to discover what was hidden behind this station storefront, which clearly is no longer a station today.
For the backstory, this place, whose building is listed as a historical monument, was once the Passy-La-Muette station, which was later renovated by the young architect Laura Gonzalez to turn it into a restaurant.

Inside, on the lower floor, you will find a magnificent and immense hall installed on the former station platforms and lit by a large central glass roof, with colonial decor complemented by vintage furniture.
Since it was summer, we had dinner on the restaurant’s famous terrace, which is located at the back of the building, making it completely invisible from the street and whose vegetation gives it a very natural atmosphere. It is the ideal spot for a summer lunch or dinner.

Jérôme Léoty, the Chef at La Gare, offers a fresh and relatively short seasonal menu.
To taste:
- As an appetizer, we (like at the Brasserie Le Sud) opted for non-alcoholic cocktails (€7), a Green Detox and a Bel Amour.

- For the starter, we tasted the soft-boiled egg, green asparagus, ravigote sauce, toasted parmesan brioche (€11.50).

- Another very fresh seasonal starter with the fresh goat cheese and zucchini cannelloni, Kalamata olives (€9.50).

- For the main course, as it was quite hot, I really wanted the salmon tartare with mango and avocado, served with new potatoes (€21), again a very fresh dish, and I appreciated the very successful combination of flavors.

- My favorite photographer looked at the carnivorous side of the menu, with the authentic pepper steak (matured Bavarian rump heart), with a gratin Dauphinois (€26). For true meat lovers.

- For dessert, the raspberry shortbread, light pistachio cream (€11.5), is beautifully graphic for photos, but I found it lacked a bit of finesse for my taste.

- On the other hand, we really liked the deconstructed lemon meringue pie (€9.5), a more structured dessert with an interesting mix of textures and a very delicious runny meringue.

The great tip: the lunch menu (Monday to Friday excluding public holidays) with starter + main course or main course + dessert for €24 or starter + main course + dessert for €28
Price : La Gare menu (lunch and dinner, excluding public holidays) with starter + main course + dessert for €39

The extra touch: La Gare, in partnership with Domaine de Peyrassol, offers a summer spot, the Hidden Garden, to have a glass of rosé or play petanque, especially during its petanque aperitifs, on the first Tuesday of every month (the last one will take place on September 6th from 6 PM to 10 PM).
