The Gourmet Fortnight (Quinzaine gourmande) by Resto Partner is an event that highlights regional products, and I have already told you about it several times on the blog. These gourmet fortnights take place 4 times a year, for each season, and the summer edition took place in May. This time, it was the perfect opportunity for me to discover another establishment that is part of this collective initiative centered on a passion for French gastronomy: Le River Café.

And a little bonus: this year, I was even able to let one lucky winner enjoy a meal for two at the Resto Partner restaurant of their choice (the contest took place via my Instagram account). I obviously hope to be able to offer you this kind of nice little treat more often in the future. It is therefore time for me to look back at this charming maritime lunch on the beautiful barge of the River Café, moored along the banks of the Seine in Issy-les-Moulineaux.

I won’t hide it from you, my favorite photographer and I were enchanted by the setting! For the duration of the meal, I felt like I was far, far away from Paris… If you go there, I recommend settling in at the front of the barge, on the boat’s deck, for a complete change of scenery, as you truly feel like you are elsewhere while dining by the water…

As for the food, you’ll find quite elaborate and very fresh French bistro-style cuisine with a few pleasant original touches here and there. In short, well-executed dishes with quality products, which allows me to endorse this restaurant as a great address to note down and try absolutely during the beautiful season.

Must try:
- As a starter to share, we had the seared salmon tartare with red onion pickles and popcorn (€10); it was super fresh and original!

- For a detox dish, I opted for the Sea Bass carpaccio, accompanied by passion fruit and Thai coriander (I’m obsessed with it!), a fresh and light choice that I didn’t regret given the heat wave at the time (€23).

- My favorite photographer tried the Zaatar-confit lamb shoulder, with eggplant caviar and Greek yogurt (€24).

- For dessert, we tested the ‘Dingue du Baba’ (€9), a rum baba well (very well) soaked, and the strawberry ice cream macaron (€9), which is more summery.

- Regarding drinks, if you like it, I advise you to try the wine from their small selection of wines by the glass (between €7 and €12).

The tip: lunch set menu (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays) including dish of the day + gourmet coffee + glass of wine or 1/2 bottle of mineral water for €29.
A little info for the back-to-school season: during the month of September, the River Café offers the « Apéros Parisiens » (Parisian Happy Hours) with an aperitif menu 100% Made in Paris (Winerie Parisienne, Paname Brewing Company craft beers, Benoît Castel products, Parisian Baccae gin…) served every day from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Thanks to the River Café and Resto Partner for this lovely invitation.
