If you follow my blog closely, you’ll have noticed that besides being a fan of great deals, I also really enjoy TV shows, which I’ve already talked to you about here, here, or even there.
I’m taking advantage of the DVD release of Breaking Bad season 4 to tell you all the good things I think about this series.
For my part, I stopped at the end of season 3 for various reasons, so I’m delighted to discover the next steps in Walter White‘s mafia ascent.
A quick pitch of the series: In learning he has cancer, Walter White, a former chemistry teacher, turns into a hardened criminal by starting to deal methamphetamine. He is helped in this endeavor by a young accomplice, Jesse, one of his former students.
The series is truly rare in its intelligence, both in the writing of its scripts and in the construction and evolution of its characters. No easy shortcuts, no condescension, nothing is spared, not the darkness, nor the vices, of the Breaking Bad heroes.
I actually had the chance to meet the show’s creator Vince Gilligan in Paris during a previous edition of Série Mania and it was a great moment.
So, if you want to discover a new series (be careful though, Breaking Bad can’t really be consumed easily if you’re just looking for a relaxing moment), intelligent and that delves into the tortuous corners of the human mind, Breaking Bad is the series for you.
For my part, I can’t wait to see the next adventures of our screw-ups in the ruthless world of drugs.
