The 24th edition of the Ciné Junior Festival, which will take place from January 29th to February 11th, 2014, is the most important festival for young audiences in France in terms of the number of spectators, screenings, and participating venues. Indeed, 14 towns in the Val-de-Marne are involved, with 19 screening venues, 300 sessions, and a total of around a hundred films selected.
This event, created at the initiative of the Val-de-Marne General Council, aims to raise awareness of cinematographic art among young audiences.
The films offered, both in competition and in the other sections of the festival (tributes, short film programs, documentaries), are selected collectively throughout the year by the teams of partner theaters and the festival team.
Mademoiselle Bon Plan’s selection:
- an exhibition featuring around fifty original paintings from the films of Swiss filmmaker Georges Schwizgebel (one of the great names in contemporary animated cinema), as well as several storyboards, cels, and sketches, will take place at the Salle des Fêtes in Gentilly from February 4th to 25th, 2014.
The Ciné Junior festival pays tribute to him during this edition by presenting four of his films, which will be shown in cinemas across the department from January 29th to February 11th.
- an exhibition-game centered around the Little Mole by Zdeněk Miler, featuring giant puzzles, cube pyramids, dominoes, mazes, drawing contests, and spot-the-difference games. The exhibition will take place at the Orly Media Library for the entire duration of the festival.
- a film-concert, ‘The Little Blue Cat’, featuring three never-before-seen short films by Zdeněk Miler set to music by Mimo the Maker and Abdellah Souni.
