Establishments centered around a single food or theme are very trendy across the Atlantic, but as you may have noticed, they are also flourishing in the capital!
Proof of this is Maison F, a new trendy spot in the Grands Boulevards area, conceived by Nicolas Catania and Baptiste Saulnier around the fry, but mind you, a high-end fry!
The idea: to restore the prestige of the chic and generous fry by presenting it crafted and reinvented with an extremely wide range of choices: matchstick potatoes, French fries, Pont Neuf potatoes, sweet potato fries, risotto fries, with a daily chef’s special fry (cooked in beef tallow, goose fat, truffle-scented, vegetable fries, etc.).
In the kitchen, Olivier Jegousse unveils the fry in all its forms, using the best varieties of potatoes, cooking fats, and spices.
To accompany the house’s signature product, the team opted for high-quality products.
The goal was to unearth small producers across France to offer top-tier food and make quality rhyme with modernity.
Some examples: an andouillette from Marc Colin, a yellow farm-raised chicken from the Gers, a beautiful cut of beef from a small producer, fish from small-scale fishing…
The little extra: all the sauces that accompany the fries are entirely homemade and are just delicious and original!!!!
As for the place, the setting is refined and original, both cozy and trendy; the decor is the work of young architects.
After testing the lunch (set menu at €18 or €23), I came back in the evening to discover the restaurant’s night bar aspect, with the F Bar, which transforms on the ground floor as soon as night falls.
On the program: sophisticated cocktails, music, a cozy and intimate atmosphere, and a fry bar.
The cocktails (between €12 and €16) are crafted by Charlie Brock, a talented Australian bartender who arrived from New York 4 years ago.
The perfect combination for an intimate and trendy evening with girlfriends to chat about our lives.
The only small regret is that the space is quite small, so with success already reaching the Parisian scene, it can be difficult to get a seat to have a drink, even on a weekday. But if you manage to get in, you will have an excellent evening!
