Here is a new article to add to my “Brunch” section, and this time I’ve put together a selection of various healthy brunch spots that I’ve tested in Paris. And, of course, I will keep adding to this article as I make new discoveries!

Foucade: healthy patisserie (closed)
This patisserie, which I previously mentioned regarding its Yule logs, is a concept that reconciles indulgence and well-being by offering products in which sugars and bad fats are reduced, allergens are limited (including less gluten and lactose), and synthetic agents are simply removed in favor of noble, unrefined raw materials. So at Foucade Paris, forget the American-style brunch saturated with bad fats (even if I like that too from time to time, don’t get me wrong…), here you are offered a healthy brunch (but filling), which changes brunch habits a little, it must be said!
The pretty Foucade boutique located very close to the Place de la Madeleine is primarily a patisserie that sells healthy cakes, but also homemade granolas, madeleines, ladyfingers, loaf cakes, and more. It also offers a small savory menu for lunch during the week. To enjoy the brunch, you settle comfortably in the back of the establishment, in a soft and cozy space that has only about twenty seats.

To talk more specifically about the brunch, it is served at the table (no buffet here) and offers:
- a hot drink of your choice (we opted for a Genmaicha tea and a Grand Oolong tea, but there is also coffee or hot chocolate).
- a fresh vitamin-packed fruit juice of your choice.
- a “travel delight” cake of the moment (choice of 2); that day it was a mini cake or madeleines.
- eggs: you can have them scrambled, soft-boiled, or fried, all served with a small seasonal salad dressed with a special Foucade vinaigrette.
- and to finish, “fluffy” pancakes (homemade pancakes made with brown rice, buckwheat, and chestnut flour) or a granola with plant-based milk or soy yogurt (since there were two of us, we obviously tried both!). I really liked the granola, which I thought was great; for the pancakes, I’ll be honest, I prefer the real ones, but hey…

Be careful, however: since the shop is not open on Sundays, you can only enjoy this brunch on Saturdays!

Kopi Cream: healthy and gluten-free brunch (closed)
This coffee shop with Indonesian and Australian influences is located right next to Bastille. The place is very small and very cute. It feels good to be there. I was invited to discover this spot, which offers gluten-free and generally vegetarian (but not only) products, and to test their brunch one weekend. This brunch is quite hearty, and my friend Juliette and I left feeling very full.
This gluten-free brunch offers:
- a fresh mixed fruit juice of the day
- a latte or a tea
- a duo of banana pancakes
- a veggie power bowl or one with meat of your choice
- a granola with fromage blanc and fruit (or something else if, like my friend that day, you really have a thing against fromage blanc or an allergy…)
