Privé de Dessert 2, the return of savory treats (closed)

Privé de Dessert, the 100% savory brand, is back at it, opening a second Parisian location two years after dazzling my eyes and taste buds with its trompe-l’œil dishes in its first restaurant (which I already wrote about on the blog)!

On the menu of this 100% savory bakery-pastry shop located between Bourse and Opéra, you’ll find fast, healthy, and high-quality food for the busy (or not so busy) local clientele at lunchtime.

In this new spot dedicated to indulgence, PPD2 once again shakes up our visual expectations by offering classic French gastronomy revisited as pastries, made with fresh, homemade products, of course.

The little extra to note is the presence of a few tables in the back of the shop so you can enjoy the house’s treats while sitting comfortably.

  • The “Parisian” Eclair, with bone-in ham, brown butter emulsion, and pickle cream (€5).
  • The “Tartiflette” Cupcake with Duchess potatoes, grilled smoked bacon, Reblochon cheese, and fried onions (€4.50).
  • The Religious pastry with salmon rillettes (fresh and smoked), and avocado mousse with grapefruit (€5.50).

Display cases with savory cream puffs, mini-tarts and other delicacies.

  • The Duck rillettes Mille-feuille (€4.50), not exactly a light snack, I admit, but so tasty for big appetites.

Slice of dark multi-layered cake with creamy filling and nuts.

  • Savory pastries (between €3 and €4.50), with Grison meat, cheese, eggplant and olive hummus…

  • To finish on a sweet note, because old habits die hard, I recommend trying the homemade brownie (€3), a real dessert!
