A touch of Brittany will be blowing over the hill of Montmartre on Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22, 2012.
Since 2007, the Commanderie du Clos Montmartre has combined the Erquy Scallop Festival with the Saint-Vincent festival.
Indeed, for Saint Vincent, the Place des Abbesses in the 18th arrondissement will be transformed into a Côtes-d’Armor market from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM for the weekend.
Organized by the Côtes d’Armor Tourism Board, the event will offer tastings, concerts, parades, entertainment, and the sale of scallops, seafood, and local Breton products.
– 12 Tourist Offices will be present to promote tourism: the richness and assets of each of their territories.
– About a dozen local producers will be present to promote gastronomy. They will liven up the square by offering tastings and the sale of local products, typical of Brittany and the Côtes d’Armor.
– The Association Rhéginéenne de la Coquille Saint-Jacques, in association with the Chamber of Commerce and the fishermen of Erquy, will recreate a fish auction and sell their catch. The Brotherhood of the Knights of the Scallop, also present, will offer tastings and participate in the event’s activities with the induction of personalities.
– The scallop, as the emblem of the Côtes-d’Armor fishing industry, will be the “queen” of this festival.
– A chef’s “competition” is organized by Euro-Toques and will put Montmartre restaurateurs in “competition” around the scallop.
– The group “Avis de grand frais” (sea shanties) will perform in the village throughout the weekend.
