I talk to you very often about restaurants, great spots, and gastronomy on the blog. Because I’m a foodie and I love the moment of sharing that a meal represents.

So today, rather than telling you about one of my dinners at a chic Parisian address, I suggest you come and have a bite with me at Hippopotamus. That sounds fun, right?

Indeed, the Hippopotamus restaurant chain offered to reserve a table for my readers and me at one of the brand’s Parisian locations to “Melt with pleasure” and warm up our taste buds this winter. And also, I thought it would finally be an opportunity to meet some of you, around a common passion: food!

Furthermore, after the evening, I will return here to post some photos of this little moment that promises to be friendly and gourmet, and of course, to tell you what we thought of it.

For info, “Melt with pleasure” events will take place in all the chain’s restaurants for 6 weeks, from February 4th to March 20th, 2016.

What we are going to discover:

  • The Savoyard burger, with meat topped with melting Reblochon cheese in a hot bun, accompanied by the new Hippo fries (€17.90).

  • For dessert, we will go for gourmet crepes accompanied by melted chocolate, whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream; I’m salivating just thinking about it (€6.50)…

Since the start of this school year, the Hippo Bastille (where we held the contest at the beginning of 2016) has undergone a complete redesign by architect Philippe Avanzi to become a much more modern space, divided into several distinct areas, a heated terrace for winter, an upstairs level with intimate alcoves, a guest table directly connected to the open kitchen, a shop, etc.

The meat menu has also been streamlined in favor of a selection of high-quality products (Limousin, Angus, and Salers breeds).

To taste:

  • The Original Burger with a ground beef patty, fresh tomato, red onion rings, cheddar sauce, and salad (€13.90).

  • A 250g rib steak served with vegetables and homemade sauce (€17.90).

HIPPOPOTAMUS CONTEST:

Hippopotamus restaurants have offered to share this meal for free with 3 of my readers next Monday, February 15, 2016, around 7:30 PM at the Hippo Bastille in Paris.

Well, I know that unfortunately, this excludes my readers who don’t live in the Ile-de-France region, but I promise if I can, I would love to start a tour of France to meet you in many cities over a good meal! But if I’m being realistic for a minute, I think that probably won’t be happening anytime soon…

The menu for our evening will be as follows: a Savoyard burger + new fries + crepes + a soft drink or a glass of wine.
