Recently, I was invited by the brand Victoire Finaz to discover her chocolate tasting workshop. But first, before I tell you about the workshop itself, let me introduce you to the brand.
Victoire Finaz is a young woman who created her own brand and hosts her workshops herself, born from her passion for travel, artisanal chocolate making, and her desire to share a certain vision of chocolate tasting with fellow foodies.
In collaboration with a French artisan chocolatier, Victoire Finaz has developed a range of recipes: from ganaches and pralines to chocolates filled with flowing Fleur de sel caramel from the Ile de Ré… I feel like I’m already making your mouth water…
As the brand was born from passion, this desire to share led Victoire Finaz to also create workshops centered around the theme of chocolate.
These workshops offer the chance to taste the brand’s chocolates using a reference grid of aromatic notes to help us better identify the aromas, much like in an oenology course.
Strangely, you realize that you might not take the time to taste chocolate as you should; we probably devour it a little too quickly because of the comfort it provides, forgetting the pleasure and qualitative aspect of tasting… and that is a real shame!
I personally fell in love with a heart-shaped dark chocolate (part of the Valentine’s Day collection) filled with mint (even though I usually don’t really like this combination). It felt like biting into fresh mint, it was incredible!
The workshop also includes a segment dedicated to the discovery of the culture, history, and production of cocoa.
And then to finish, we take a little quiz to discover our “choco-personality” and therefore the chocolates that suit us best (personally, as I am a foodie, I love almost all chocolates!).
In conclusion, I wanted to thank Victoire Finaz for this invitation because I had a great time and I learned many things about chocolate, and especially about how to taste it.
