We’re celebrating the scallop in Montmartre!

A touch of Brittany will be blowing over the hill of Montmartre this weekend, on Saturday, January 25th and Sunday, January 26th, 2014.

For the past 8 years, the Commanderie du Clos Montmartre has been honoring, for one weekend, the marine gastronomy and culinary expertise of the Bay of Saint-Brieuc in the Côtes-d’Armor region.

The 18th arrondissement and the Place des Abbesses, on the occasion of the Scallop Festival, will also celebrate the 9th edition of the Saint-Vincent Festival, the patron saint of winemakers.

A big new feature this year: Breton chefs, including Vincent and Nathalie Prémorvan from Paimpol, Antoine Ollivier from Etables-sur-Mer, Thierry Danglard from Erquy, and Hervé Nicolas from Lamballe, will be on hand to help everyone discover the scallop in all its forms.

The white pearl of the Bay of Saint-Brieuc will also be showcased during culinary demonstrations, with gourmet bites prepared right before your eyes. Traditional music, sea shanties, and folk dancing will accompany these tastings.

The festival will also feature a Sea Market, with fishmonger stalls presenting many species of fish and shellfish.
