Adeline Grattard’s Café Laï Tcha

The Café Laï Tcha is a lovely little spot from Chef Adeline Grattard, who also owns the Michelin-starred restaurant, Yam’Tcha (which, for the record, I haven’t personally tested yet).

She opened this place last year for her customers who were asking for “yam tcha to go.” In this new venue near Les Halles in Paris, you will naturally find her signature creative cuisine with Asian influences.

My favorite photographer and I really liked the original layout of the space, which is long and narrow, and the little mezzanine at the back of the restaurant where we had lunch, offering a more intimate and quiet spot.

Here, you will find “tapas” style portions for sharing, which are perfect for treating yourself and trying several of the house’s delicious creations.

To try:

  • For the main course, I recommend: The Black Angus beef sautéed with lemongrass (€16); Mussels, minced pork with lemongrass and grated butternut squash (€12); Vegetable spring rolls (€10); Wonton soup with pork and shrimp (€12).

Assortment of Asian dishes: rice, spring rolls, shrimp, soup, and vegetables.

Bowls of stir-fried meat and green vegetables, with a blurred spring roll.

  • For dessert, the chocolate, banana, and pecan cookie (€3.50) is amazing, and the “Bachès” citrus cake looked very nice too (€5 per slice)!

  • For drinks, I recommend trying the house teas (between €5 and €7), which are obviously of excellent quality.
