Humorous bagels the Bagelstein way

I am continuing my journey of discovering great Street food spots in the capital, focusing today on bagels. These little ring-shaped sandwiches with a hole in the middle, which also came from across the Atlantic (but only because they followed Jewish immigrants who came from Eastern Europe!), are very tasty and great when done right, especially in the summer.

In the Louvre and Opéra neighborhood, I discovered a very good spot to enjoy these filled rolls. At Bagelstein, you choose almost everything for your bagel, from the type of bread to the filling. They also ask for your first name, so everyone can call you by your name (although there is nothing stopping you from giving a fake one, which can lead to some funny situations…). It does, however, add a little touch of friendliness and humanity to your order (which pairs perfectly with the atmosphere of the place).

For the record, Bagelstein is originally a Strasbourg-based chain that is now established in Paris (with several locations), as well as in Nancy and Lyon. Bagelstein shops share an American-style decor, funny slogans, and an offbeat sense of humor present from the restroom door to the definition on your tray (a must-read!). In short, it tastes good and the spirit is creative and relaxed. So, go discover it as soon as possible!

Below is a small selection of photos of the house’s delicious bagels.
