The Fête de la Gastronomie (an event I have been covering since its very first edition) will take place this year on Friday, September 22, Saturday, September 23, and Sunday, September 24, 2017.
The theme for this 7th edition will be “At the Heart of the Product” and will highlight products as true regional signatures that energize our local areas. To embody this theme, Stéphane Layani, President of the Rungis International Market, will be the patron of this 2017 edition.

Many events are planned throughout France and abroad!
The program includes a great diversity of events across the country: popular banquets, picnics, tastings, special menus in restaurants and school canteens, business or farm tours, exhibitions, conferences, and street performances.
I also advise you to take a close look at the event program to make the most of these days and find events happening near you.

VegOresto celebrates plant-based cuisine
For the 7th edition of the Fête de la Gastronomie, VegOresto, an initiative by the L214 association, is launching twenty challenges to restaurant chefs.

The challenge? Imagine a vegan menu and offer it for a meal. Through these restaurant-challenge evenings, VegOresto celebrates gastronomy under the banner of conviviality, innovation, and discovering new plant-based flavors.
At the end of the evening, two out of three chefs will sign the VegOresto charter and thus make their 100% plant-based offering permanent.

The “Tous au Restaurant” Operation!
The Tous au Restaurant event, launched for the first time in June 2010 at the initiative of chef Alain Ducasse and Laurent Plantier, is the unmissable meeting point for restaurateurs and the general public.
This year, it runs from September 18 to October 1, 2017, with the desire to open restaurants to the widest possible audience. Tous au Restaurant! returns with “Your guest is our guest,” the formula that made the event a success.
Thus, in more than 1,000 participating establishments, the restaurateur will offer the Tous au Restaurant menu, consisting of a starter, a main course, and a dessert, to the second diner.
The tip: Table reservations must be made exclusively via the Tous au Restaurant website, and I advise you to act now because the event is always very popular.

In Paris, some very fine addresses are participating in this operation, including the La Coupole restaurant, which I told you about very recently, and which offers the chance to discover the “Joséphine” menu for €59, concocted by chef Vakhtang Meliava.
