This little literary café, opened by three friends from Italy, is the perfect place to sit back and relax in a friendly setting for a traditional Sunday brunch.
The hodgepodge decor with cozy sofas and tables found at local flea markets gives Marco Valdo a warm and welcoming feel.
Marcovaldo is the name of a character from Italo Calvino’s novels.
We went to this libreria caffé for Easter Monday, so the menu was a bit special for the occasion.
Regarding the food, the €21 brunch set menu is honest and offers dishes with Italian-sounding names: lasagna, risotto, eggplant parmesan,…
A small negative note, however: with the brunch menu, we didn’t have a choice of hot drink. That day it was green tea, which suited me fine, but one of my brunch companions is a coffee addict and would have preferred a choice, and I understand that. It’s a bit of a shame…
