Today, I’m sharing an article all about Latin American cuisine. If you’re a fan, you can already check out my article on my favorite Mexican restaurants in Paris. Below, I’m inviting you to discover some great spots to eat empanadas (typical stuffed turnovers from Latin American cuisine) in Paris, in a little article with a spicy flair… As usual, I plan to update this article regularly by adding my new discoveries over time.

Clasico Argentino
First, I’ll take you to discover an Argentinian specialty, empanadas (small stuffed turnovers), at the famous Clasico Argentino chain. They already have 7 restaurants in Paris and one in Le Vésinet. Back in 2015, I tested their location in the Passage des Panoramas (which has since closed), and in 2023, I tested their spot on Rue Madame in the 6th arrondissement. A fun fact: you can identify the different fillings of your empanadas by looking at the shape of their edges. I find it adds a playful touch to the meal.
What to try:
- For an aperitif, the Mate Tonique with Mateo (a sparkling drink based on yerba mate, the plant that Argentinians love to brew).
- The various empanadas, of course: Choriempa, with pork sausage; Humita, with corn and cilantro; Verdura, with spinach; Pollo, with chicken; Jamon y queso, with ham and cheese; Fugazzetta, with cheese and onion (the classic, in a way); Carne, with beef.
- You can accompany it all with a small mixed salad (€6) for a bit of greens and a glass of Argentinian wine.
- For dessert, you absolutely must try the establishment’s homemade ice creams (2 scoops €5 and 3 scoops €7); I recommend the classic, Dulce de leche (milk jam).

Mayli’s Resto & Co
Mayli’s Resto is a lovely little spot located in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, on Rue Blondel. People come here to enjoy empanadas, those typical stuffed turnovers from Latin American cuisine. The restaurant offers 10 different recipes and there’s something for everyone: the Inka with chicken and a Peruvian yellow chili sauce, or even the three-cheese one, which is made with a vegan dough using black radish. For desserts, you’ll find traditional Chilean and Latin American recipes, and naturally, everything is homemade.
