Paris celebrates beer (invitations inside)

by Melle Bon Plan
Published: Updated:

The next two weeks will be packed with events centered around beer in the capital, through several institutions and festivals that I really enjoy.

First off, there’s the Paris Beer Week #2, which will run from May 22 to May 31, 2015, giving you the chance to discover the French and international brewing scene in the capital through a hundred events and great deals, organized by breweries, beer shops, bars, distributors, and associations. I already told you about it last year and I am so happy this wonderful event is back for a second edition.

Another event, Heineken, will also be taking over the Palais Brongniart for 3 days for The Place To Beer on the upcoming May 21, 22, and 23.

Hutch Hot-Dogs House

Nearly 3 years after its launch, the brand Hutch Hot-Dogs House, well-known to the street foodies who follow this blog for offering delicious hot dogs in the purest New York tradition, is expanding its dining menu by launching its own house beer: the Hutch Classic Pale Ale, because beer is exactly THE trendiest drink of the moment!

It is an original and exclusive recipe with an American inspiration, brewed by the Brasserie artisanale du Galibier located in Valloire (a name that those who love skiing will certainly recognize, as it is a famous ski resort in the Savoy region).

The Hutch Classic Pale Ale is a fruity, floral beer with a slightly pronounced bitterness, but it is very refreshing and pairs perfectly with the sweet-and-savory profile of Hutch hot dogs. You can now find it for sale in bottles at both of Hutch’s Parisian hot dog shops, at the Zénith de Paris, as well as at the numerous events that Hutch associates with (including, coming up: the Sneakers Event, Peacock, and Solidays!).

The FrogPubs beer weekend in Paris

FrogPubs

, a must-visit spot for hop lovers, is celebrating Beer Week in Paris with a weekend of brewing activities in their pubs (from Friday, May 22 to Sunday, May 24), restaurants, and microbreweries, all of which are pioneers of craft beer in Paris.

On the program: 3 events to promote and support the great brewing community in a spirit of conviviality, sharing, and discovery.

  • Friday, May 22: “Crafty ladies“, women are in the spotlight at the Frog & Princess.

To pay tribute to women, who are increasingly drawn to hops, the Frog & Princess will offer 8 craft beers exclusively brewed by women. Animations and meet-and-greets are also on the program.

  • Saturday, May 23: “Take Over Our Taps #2“, 6 British breweries take over the Frog & Rosbif.

At the Frog & Rosbif on Rue Saint-Denis in Paris (the very place where Paul Chantler, a “craft” beer enthusiast and founder of FrogPubs, brewed his very first pint just 22 years ago), FrogPubs will exceptionally hand over its taps to six guest breweries (Fuller’s, Firebrand, Pressure Drop, Camden Town Brewery, Timothy Taylors, and Meantime). They will be able to have their beers tested and sold (until their kegs run dry) in this Parisian beer institution.

It’s an opportunity to taste beers that are new to France and echo the launch of the Great British Beers Series.

Live DJs are on the program and, as a rare treat, you can even visit the brewery located in the basement of the Frog & Rosbif. From fermentation tanks to your glass, you’ll know everything about your brew!
