Brunch and exhibition at La Maison Rouge (closed)

I had already told you about this Parisian venue dedicated to contemporary art here, and today I’m giving you a quick rundown of the brunch offered at La Maison Rouge and run by Rose Bakery.

Atypical for a brunch, the decor changes along with the temporary exhibitions offered by this space, so roughly every 3 to 6 months.

For this brunch, there is no set menu, but rather dishes à la carte. If I have one little piece of advice to give you, it’s to come in a group and share the dishes. Indeed, they are very generous, and if you want to taste a bit of everything, it’s the best solution to get by without breaking the bank.

In terms of quality, it’s frankly a very good brunch, with only fresh, well-prepared products, and a small touch of originality. I particularly recommend trying the salads, the cakes which are succulent, and the apple, carrot, and ginger juice.

Red cabbage and crispy chicken salad, green beans on the side.

The highlight of the venue is obviously that after your brunch, you can follow up with the current exhibition at La Maison Rouge.

Right now, and until September 23, 2012, a retrospective of the rather little-known Swiss artist Louis Soutter is being hosted by La Maison Rouge. I would still only recommend this exhibition to fans of the artist or those knowledgeable about artistic movements in the first half of the 20th century, because without explanations, the exhibition is quite difficult to grasp.

The great deal is that you can benefit from a free guided tour at no extra cost to your entry ticket every Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 PM.
