Brunch at Café Pinson (closed)

It’s clear that the new school year is here, as my search for great Parisian spots has started up again. My first great discovery of this season was Café Pinson, in the company of Eléonore, whose review you can also find on her blog.

I had already kept this place in mind for several months, but the opportunity to discover it hadn’t presented itself yet.

It’s an ideal place for a cozy brunch with girlfriends or family (there is even a small corner specially reserved for children with some toys).

The Café Pinson brunch, priced at €25, offers a unique set menu including:

  • hot drinks (coffee, tea, organic herbal tea bags, and homemade hot chocolate) available to help yourself at the bar
  • bread, vegan butter, homemade jam (apricot-vanilla jam during our visit), and a succulent cocoa-hazelnut spread, all of which are also all-you-can-eat
  • a savory plate: 2 zucchini madeleines, an egg, and cold salads
  • a sweet plate: 2 madeleines (super fluffy) and yogurt with rhubarb jam and homemade granola

Yogurt verrine, cream, and buckwheat granola for brunch.

Regarding the set menu, my only small regret was that, unfortunately, no drink or fruit juice is included in the brunch, and I think that’s missing a little something.

For the rest, the decor is very nice, and the place is welcoming. However, they are victims of their own success, and the café is very often stormed for the Sunday brunch.

You will therefore need to arrive early or be lucky enough to arrive just as someone is leaving, because we were unable to make a reservation to ensure we would have a table.
