This brasserie (or chic bistro, take your pick) is an embassy for Auvergne gastronomy in Paris and is located in the heart of the Marais district on a lovely, particularly quiet pedestrian cul-de-sac: rue du Trésor. I was totally charmed by Le Trésor’s beautiful terrace; it is lush, spacious, and above all, sheltered from noise and hustle. It is the perfect spot for a summer or winter lunch in Paris, as I had the opportunity to test the address during both seasons.
In the kitchen, you’ll find chef Alain Stephan, who enjoys modernizing bistro cuisine while staying faithful to the products and values of the Auvergne terroir. Le Trésor also features an oyster bar, as per the tradition of large Parisian brasseries, offering oysters from Normandy and Brittany (Quiberon).

2017 Terrace Lunch:
- For a starter, we shared 6 fines de claire d’Oléron oysters no. 3 (€17), which is a great way to whet the appetite without filling up too much.
- Since it was still a bit warm and I wanted something light, I tried the Auvergne Bruschetta salad (€21) with tomato concassé, grilled vegetables, shavings of aged Rodez cheese, avocado, and Capelin country ham.
- Another local specialty is the Auvergne Capelin pork sausage, a rustic mountain pig fed on cereals, vegetable proteins, and above all, chestnuts, which gives the meat a distinct flavor. The sausage comes with aligot (€23). The aligot is obviously homemade, as with any self-respecting Auvergne restaurant, and it is very good!
- For dessert, I obviously couldn’t resist the house tiramisu (€9); it wasn’t bad, but a little too heavy on the coffee for my taste…
- The favorite photographer chose the lemon meringue pie (€9).
- The establishment’s Auvergne wines come from Desprat Vins, and I recommend trying the Cuvée du Boss, a light Saint-Pourçain with red fruit notes that pairs perfectly with regional specialties.

2024 Winter Lunch:
- We tasted 3 starters: crispy soft-boiled egg with truffle cream (€14); creamy mushrooms and sautéed shrimp (€15); gratin ravioli.
- For the main course, I again had the Auvergne Capelin pork sausage with aligot (a sure bet), and my friend ordered the Aveyron young beef hanger steak, also served with aligot (€31). We also saw a 1kg Aubrac prime rib (€98) go by to another table, but you need several people to finish that…

Great deal on the waived corkage fee: on Tuesday evenings, you can bring your own wine and enjoy it at the table without paying any corkage fee.
Price: Bistrot lunch set menu (starter or soup of the day + main of the day) €21 / Le Trésor menus at €26 and €32 / child’s menu €13
