What could be more pleasant than a small terrace for the sunny days?! Obviously, when you alternate between heatwaves and early autumn, you have to choose your date carefully, but that is another subject…
Well, it was precisely in search of the best Parisian spots of the summer in terms of terraces that I set out again for you. It wasn’t really easy given the changing weather of the last few weeks, but I sincerely hope that this quest will still be useful for the end of this summer and for the back-to-school period (fingers crossed).
After a beautiful selection in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, what does the 2019 vintage have in store for us?…

La Barbanegra, a terrace by the Seine
Apparently, this is the 2nd season for this terrace by the Seine, which I hadn’t spotted last year unfortunately…
The spot is particularly nice, though. Born from the desire of 4 friends to create a friendly, non-pretentious space, La Barbanegra offers all summer long “Hippie Chic” happy hours with a guinguette vibe, a food corner with Mediterranean accents, drinks, and super swings that we really loved with my friends Faustine and Vanessa.
Plus, every evening, to set the mood here, there are no DJ sets, but live concerts with artists selected by the venue.

The Shed, the rooftop of the Hôtel des Grands Boulevards
This timeless, escapist terrace is installed on the top floor of the Hôtel des Grands Boulevards. It is a great rooftop spot, well-hidden and completely peaceful.
On the menu, cocktails are divided into 3 categories: No Shed (non-alcoholic / €10), One Shed (moderate alcohol / €14), and Two Shed (classic alcohol volume / €16).
To taste:
- Among the non-alcoholic options, the Pineapple and Coco Smash frozen is a killer!!! Super fresh and very flavorful, I loved it!
- Among the Two Shed cocktails, the “from our vegetable garden” cocktail has a magnificent 100% natural color (the bartender assured us) and it is also very, very good. Rather soft and sweet, but perfectly balanced.
For info, the rooftop is quite small and it is impossible to book, so don’t come too late (I would say 7:30 PM at the latest) if you want to get a little spot and also enjoy the last rays of sunshine (after that it disappears behind the buildings).

For info, in these photos, I am wearing a skirt from the ethical brand Refab Market, which I have already told you about on Instagram.

Barbecue at the Roch Hôtel, Paris
It is always a pleasure to return to the Roch Hôtel & Spa restaurant to discover the establishment’s latest offerings. This summer, chef Remy Bererd invites us to enjoy the superb hidden terrace of the establishment for a quality barbecue. On the program, simple yet refined cuisine with excellent products. I am still as much a fan of his colorful plates, which are already so appetizing when you see them arriving at the table!
A little bonus for this Barbecue formula: the chef cooks the dishes “a la minute” for customers on the terrace. A friendly atmosphere guaranteed!

To taste:
- As a starter, the Collection tomato gazpacho or the Lectoure melon and the chiffonnade of raw ham.
- As a main course, the grilled pork ribs or the fillet of grilled sea bream with herb butter, and as a side, the chef had us taste the delicious Hedgehog potatoes (€6).
- For dessert, the homemade fruit salad is a feast for the eyes (and more) and the ice cream sundae of the moment with 2 homemade sorbets is ultra-refreshing.

We accompany this meal with a glass of wine (prices between €6 and €14) recommended by our waitress, and we spent, as we do every time, a timeless moment in this little bubble.
Roch Hotel & Spa 28 Rue Saint-Roch, 75001 Paris Price of the Barbecue formula: starter + main course or main course + dessert at €31 / starter + main course + desert at €36 The Barbecue formula is available only on Friday and Saturday lunchtimes The Roch is open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday inclusive

Le Papa Cabane at the Ibis Styles Paris Bercy
This is the third year that Le Papa Cabane has set up in the courtyard of the IBIS Styles Paris Bercy hotel for a series of “afterwork” parties, allowing us to enjoy long summer nights on a magnificent terrace of over 1000 m2 facing the Parc de Bercy.
A really nice spot with stylish, eco-responsible decor just like last year; the furniture is made of pallets, there are cushions, fairy lights, it’s a great place to hang out with friends for an evening in the 12th arrondissement.
On the program: DJ set, pétanque, ping pong, foosball, food trucks, and a bar for happy hour with a few cocktails.

La Table du Luxembourg
To feel like you’re on vacation without leaving Paris, I recommend a lunch on the terrace of La Table du Luxembourg. The latter is located in the heart of the Jardin du Luxembourg and is open from 7:30 AM to 9:30 PM.
Managed by the famous Chef Philippe Renard, Michelin-starred Chef of the Lutétia, the establishment offers dishes prepared on-site, mostly organic, fresh, and seasonal. In fine weather, as soon as a bit of sunshine appears, the terrace takes up its summer quarters under the trees and it is extremely pleasant.
To taste: a large salad accompanied by a small glass of wine (between €7 and €12); the semi-cooked salmon steak with multicolored tomatoes in almond oil (€21).

La Table du Luxembourg Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris Open from 7:30 AM to 9:30 PM The weekday lunch deal: the Chef offers a "Smart Lunch" menu at €21 (dish of the day, wine or water, and coffee) and a "Renard Lunch" menu at €35 (main dish, dessert, wine or water, and coffee)

La Terrasse de Madame in the Jardin du Luxembourg
Another beautiful address located in the Jardin du Luxembourg, next to the Medici Fountain and the bandstand this time, is La Terrasse de Madame and its magnificent outdoor space overlooking the park in the shade of the garden’s large trees. Surrounded by greenery, this address offers a haven of peace when coming to sit for a few hours.
The establishment offers breakfast, lunch with a “brasserie-style” menu, and afternoon snacks, as well as a takeaway service.
To taste: as a starter, the Burrata with tomatoes, pesto, and breadstick is very nice to share (€9.90); a big favorite for the establishment’s Caesar salad which is truly succulent (€18); for dessert, I obviously fell for the strawberry tiramisu (€7.90).

La Terrasse de Madame Jardin du Luxembourg, 75006 Paris Open every day from 8:45 AM to 7 PM

The Garden of the Hôtel Mercure Tour Eiffel
This green bubble is hidden in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, not far from the Eiffel Tower. It’s the ideal spot for an aperitif in the countryside, but without leaving Paris!
Actually, this little corner of paradise is part of the Hôtel Mercure Tour Eiffel, but you really have to go inside the establishment (to go to the restrooms, for example) to realize it. Otherwise, it feels like being in a friend’s garden in the countryside… In the back of the garden, you’ll find the bar area, a bit isolated for a quiet aperitif, and a hopscotch game for those who want to feel like a kid again.
To taste: a 100% made-in-France aperitif with a sharp selection of carefully sourced drinks and nibbles that promote local expertise, such as SuperProducteurs pots (€8.50 per pot), of which we recommend the mackerel rillettes and the basil & parmesan cream.
On the drinks menu:
- Parisian beers by Paname Brewing Company, local wines from the Winerie Parisienne (€5.50 or €6 per glass), and Paris Cola (€5).
- As for cocktails, we tasted the Folle Envie, a cocktail made with a 100% French aperitif, mixing citrus and aromatic herbs (€14), as well as the Matchaça cocktail.

Chic Aperitif at the Maison de la Truffe
This summer, the Maison de la Truffe (a beautiful establishment specialized in this flagship product) is offering a Chic Aperitif package for gourmet truffle lovers.
This chic aperitif highlights one of the flagship products of the Maison de la Truffe: the famous Black Truffle puree pizza with stracciatella di bufala and arugula. All this is also accompanied by a “piscine” (iconic large glass with ice cubes) of rosé wine.
The little extra: the small, quintessentially Parisian terrace that runs along the establishment and which I find is the perfect place for this aperitif!

The Gypsy terrace of the Cirque d’Hiver
I loved the gypsy-accented decor of this ephemeral terrace, from the Leroy Merlin collections and scenographed by TheBlondCactus.
On the program: casual-chic atmosphere, rugs on the floor, rattan armchairs, oriental poufs, red velvet benches (a small nod to the legendary hall of the Cirque d’Hiver).
The little extra: the superb 1950s caravan, refurbished and transformed into a cozy bistro.
The terrace of the Cirque d’Hiver 110 rue Amelot 75011 Paris terrace open until end of September 2019 Open from 6:30 PM to 12:00 AM from Tuesday to Saturday

The terrace of the Chez Julien restaurant
It had been years that, passing by this restaurant, I told myself that its terrace was magnificent and that I should test it one day… It’s done this summer, thanks to a very nice dinner with some journalists and influencers last July.
I was thus able to discover that the establishment’s chef, Helmi Derbal, is specialized in Truffles, and I must say that I had an orgy of it (to my greatest delight) that evening.
To taste: as a starter, the crab meat, avocado guacamole, mango, and cucumber (€18 and €23 with truffle); as a main course, the “Enoteca” ravioli with 6 cheeses and fresh truffle (€34); the label rouge semi-cooked salmon heart (€31); for dessert, the lemon shortbread and fresh raspberries (€14)
The little extra: a very beautiful wine-by-the-glass menu with a long selection (between €8 and €15)
Restaurant Chez Julien 1 Rue du Pont Louis-Philippe, 75004 Paris The tip: lunch menu at €26 with starter + main dish or main dish + dessert (served from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays)

Guinguette On Top, Tour Montparnasse
This summer you can go have a drink and grab a bite 210m above Paris, at the very top of the Montparnasse Tower, until the end of September at the Guinguette On Top. Which makes this place the highest rooftop in the capital, after all!
On the program: a “so french” aperitif, notably with UP rosé (Ultimate Provence / €5 a glass), but also made-in-France beer (25cl €5 / 50cl €8) and some beautiful plates to share with others (between €6 and €12): cheeses, charcuterie, tapenades, hummus, burratina, etc.
The little extra: the Guinguette will also regularly host live shows of Jazz, funk, and even some musical blind tests throughout the summer; the evening schedule is available on the page dedicated to the Guinguette On Top on the Facebook account of the Montparnasse Tower Panoramic Observatory.
Guinguette On Top Observatoire Panoramique de la Tour Montparnasse 33 avenue du Maine 75015 Paris From July 6 to September 30, 2019 Open weekdays from 4 PM and from 12 PM on weekends Access with a ticket for the Montparnasse Tower Panoramic Observatory

Les Jardins Renoir at the Musée de Montmartre
The Café Renoir and its charming tearoom have been settled for 3 years on the most famous hill in Paris, in the gardens of the Musée de Montmartre. It is the perfect place to sit in the heart of the capital, yet very far from the city’s hustle and bustle, within a little bubble of nature that does a lot of good.
And this year, it’s on Thursday evenings that we can enjoy the Summer Evenings at the Museum to stroll around Montmartre. On the program: exhibition tours and a garden party spirit in the gardens, with some music, to immerse us a bit more in a bucolic atmosphere.
It’s also an opportunity to drink a glass of wine from the Winerie Parisienne (present everywhere this summer, since I already mentioned it above) with a small board to share (from €12).

Café Renoir open every day from 11:30 AM to 6 PM and nocturnally every Thursday until 10 PM in July and August Musée de Montmartre 12 rue Cortot 75018 Paris Standard rate: €5 entry to access the Café Renoir and the Jardins Renoir Rates: special nocturnal rate €16 (entry + glass of wine) / €12 (full price) / €9 (18-25 years old) / €6 (10-17 years old) / free (-10 years old)

Le Café Jacques at the Musée du Quai Branly
Ducasse Culture opened the Café Jacques this year in the gardens of the Musée du Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac. The decor, imagined by Alienor Béchu, offers a restaurant that is all transparency, lightness, and gentleness, and widely open to the garden surrounding the establishment. As for the plates, the menu gives pride of place to vegetables and fresh products, mostly sourced around Paris and its region.
To taste: eggs Benedict with smoked salmon (€14); large salads (between €21 and €23); the salmon steak, spelt, lentils, and flat parsley coulis (€22); the dish in homage to the one who wanted the Musée du Quai Branly, “Le Jacques” (€21), composed of a seed-topped brioche bun and a vegetarian patty with Espelette pepper (lentils, corn, white beans, onion, spring onion, piquillos, homemade ketchup, cucumber, romaine).
The restaurant’s terrace is particularly pleasant for fine weather and one feels cut off from the Parisian hustle in this bucolic interval within the frantic city.

Café Jacques
Jardin du Musée du Quai Branly
27 quai de Branly, 75007 Paris
open every day except Monday (excluding school holidays), from 9:30 AM to 6 PM

Le Marché POP
This summer, the Irish whiskey brand Jameson Irish Whiskey is investing in the brand new Marché POP. In the heart of this omnivorous spot set up as an open market, 500 m2 are dedicated to Jameson and Irish-style BBQ.
On the program of this ephemeral place: A barbecue inspired by Jameson stills, products selected by the best Parisian artisans, participatory barbecues, and a host table where the “cream” of Irish chefs will officiate. All accompanied by Jameson cocktails specially created for the occasion and Masterclasses.
