Sometimes in life, you have to make choices… For example, there are places you want to keep to yourself. Places you definitely don’t want to reveal, for fear that others will invade these spots that still hold a soul, a precious uniqueness. But well, I told myself that with you, my dear readers, I really had to share this insider spot, even though I’m sure you’ll all rush there now…
I had noted in my list of places to test: Tuck Shop, a small coffee shop nestled in the 10th arrondissement of Paris and run by 3 Australian women who have settled in our beautiful capital.
This tiny coffee shop is charming, friendly, and offers unbeatable value for money.
The brunch at €10 for a hot drink, a fresh juice, a small savory dish of the day, and a cookie remains one of the best deals I’ve unearthed in the capital. Especially when you consider that everything is homemade at Tuck Shop and done super well!
At worst, if you’re still hungry, you can add one of the other small lunch dishes of the day or desserts (homemade soup, mixed salad, cakes, scones) and for about €15/17, you’ll have had a brunch that is both complete and delicious.
Anyway, I don’t know what more to say to convince you to go test Tuck Shop, except that I’m going to return very soon to discover the other delicacies I didn’t get to taste last time…
Of course, this kind of slightly confidential place is still a victim of its own success, and although the space is very small, it is very crowded, and the Australian ladies who put all their good cheer into this lovely spot unfortunately do not take reservations.
You will therefore need to be patient, or lucky…
And don’t be afraid to share your table with the eclectic Anglo-Saxon-leaning boho crowd that regularly occupies the place.
