My love for gastronomy and great food often leads me to discover and test concepts centered around this passion for eating well, where the pleasure is found as much in the plate as in the moment shared.
This is how I discovered La Belle Assiette, a community of independent chefs that offers private chefs at home with just one click, or almost.
La Belle Assiette is therefore a private chef booking service, made up of a community of selected and high-quality independent Chefs, whose website offers a multitude of services: home meals, cooking classes, cocktails, brunches, deliveries, corporate lunches, etc.
The site, which carefully selects and tests its partner Chefs, helps them create their menus and choose their prices and availability. You can then book a culinary experience directly online with a chef in your area. Once payment is made, the Chef buys the ingredients, comes to your home, cooks, takes care of the table service, and then tidies up and cleans before leaving (in short, they do everything from A to Z).
After 18 months of existence, more than 320 Chefs in 5 different countries have been admitted to the platform!
The great idea: to find your way around the impressive range of chefs in the community, guests can leave their reviews on their meal in a “comment” field on the site, which allows for the performance to be evaluated.
Thanks to the blog, I had the opportunity to test two validation dinners (a kind of test dinner for the integration of new chefs into the community, which I will tell you about in more detail later in the article) and it was a wonderful experience and a very good time every time.
My first validation dinner was with the chefs Sombat and Gregor for a menu with Thai influences. I particularly enjoyed the Thai soup served as a starter and the service, which was impeccable, worthy of a great restaurant.
The cuisine was spicy, but just enough—not too intense if you’re not a fan of spicy food—and perfectly balanced. The presentation of the dishes was also remarkable, graphic, and neat. I therefore highly recommend trying the experience of a meal with these chefs; you will definitely have an excellent time.
My second validation dinner was with chef Ji Hye Park, for a dinner with Korean notes.
I particularly liked the main course, the seared tuna with wasabi and anchovy sauces, absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced in terms of flavors! I left the meal having eaten very well, but I felt light, which is appreciated.
I have just one mixed feeling about the dessert, which was very good, but perhaps not up to the standard of the rest of the menu and also less typically Korean.

The Great Deal:
La Belle Assiette is expanding its validation Jury community to 5,000 new members in 5 countries by the end of 2014, to ensure the impeccable know-how of Chefs recently registered on its platform.
An opportunity for all foodies to join this community of enthusiasts who discover, in preview, the new home Chefs of La Belle Assiette.
To do this, simply sign up to stay informed about the next Validation Dinners that will take place near you.
The principle is simple: for every new chef who wants to join the adventure, La Belle Assiette organizes a “Validation Dinner”. This test dinner, which unfolds like a real private chef service, takes place in the presence of eight guests, all members of the La Belle Assiette Jury.
The dinner is hosted by one of the Jury members, in a city close to the Chef’s location. The Jurors present taste the dishes and evaluate the Chef’s complete performance.
Following the dinner, they fill out a questionnaire that will be used by La Belle Assiette to decide whether or not to validate the Chef. In case of validation, the Chef receives the “Validated by the Jury” label, a guarantee of quality for La Belle Assiette customers.
So I have only one piece of advice for you: rush to sign up before there are no spots left!
