This beautiful establishment, which has several locations in Paris, is a real favorite for my favorite photographer and myself. I obviously remembered eating dim sum in a few gloomy Asian restaurants, and I have to admit it didn’t leave a lasting impression… But that was before discovering Yoom and its succulent (I choose my words carefully) dim sum. To provide a quick recap, dim sum are small Asian delicacies, a kind of bite-sized treat; they can be savory or sweet, steamed, wok-fried, poached, or roasted. At Yoom, they are of course all entirely homemade using fresh ingredients and, most importantly, folded by hand according to the traditional Chinese method.
It’s important to mention all of this, as it helps explain and justify the price, which is inevitably much higher than in a restaurant serving frozen dim sum… Here, everything is fresh, refined, and the restaurant offers an extremely varied range of flavors and textures. To top off this culinary pleasure, the decor of the place is very well thought out—both retro and modern—and it, too, takes us on a little journey to Asia.
In the Asian tradition, the idea here is to order several types of dim sum (about 4 types per person, I’d say) which are placed in the center of the table to be shared by everyone. I like this way of eating; it’s convivial and also allows you to taste more different things. Moreover, the establishment also offers set menus (€21 or €26) which allow you to sample the house specialties.

Yoom Dim Sum Right Bank
This is the first location of this brand we tested. It is ideally situated on the very gourmet Rue des Martyrs in the 9th arrondissement.
Must-try:
- Steamed Charolais beef dim sum smoked with beechwood (€6.30 for 2 pieces), Thai-spiced Charolais beef dim sum (€6.30 for 2 pieces), grilled lemongrass chicken dim sum (€5.90 for 2 pieces), “Lion’s Head” steamed green curry chicken dim sum (€6.50 for 3 pieces)… In short, actually everything is good…
- Steamed “baozi” buns with sautéed vegetables (€6.20 for 2 pieces), they are simply amazing, a must-try!
- As a side dish, I recommend you try the crunchy salad with peanut sauce (€4.50) and the spicy noodles with peanut sauce (€5.50).
- Don’t miss the desserts, which are also succulent. You can try the Tang Yuan (3 pieces – €6.20), glutinous rice balls with black sesame, or the chocolate and praline dim sum (€7.20).
I also advise you to have some tea (between €4.50 and €5 per teapot) to accompany your dim sum, since these little bites were originally invented precisely to accompany this ancient beverage…

Yoom Dim Sum Left Bank
We discovered this other location nestled in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés (you can also find my other good food addresses in Saint-Germain-des-Prés by following this link) in 2024, and it was an opportunity for us to re-taste the excellent dim sum of the brand. We notably tested the Tigre lunch menu, which offers a great assortment for only €16: assortment of steamed dim sum (shrimp, chicken, vegetables, beef) + juicy shrimp dim sum or juicy chicken dim sum (2 pieces) + crunchy salad, Thai peanut sauce + sides of your choice: steamed rice with vegetables or Thai red curry soup.
