Blitz is a restaurant located in the heart of the 11th arrondissement of Paris, overlooking Square Maurice Gardette, which you can glimpse through its large bay window. The lovely idea behind this spot is to order dishes (especially in the evening) in tapas format to share over a nice drink. We really loved this concept with the favorite photographer because we are very generous when it comes to food and also quite curious by nature.
Since it’s a place I like a lot, I go back there regularly, and during my last visit in December 2021, I can confirm that this restaurant is still just as good and friendly!
As for the decor, there is an open kitchen looking out onto a very green dining area where large tables, benches, and counter corners coexist, all designed by the Franco-Israeli architect Jordan Weisberg. In terms of cuisine, the establishment offers a fusion menu that blends spices, herbs, and chili peppers with Mediterranean and Eastern European inspirations.

To taste and share:
- The delicious Keftas with beef, spring onion, herbs, and chili (€9 or €12 depending on the quantity or as a main dish with pita and Israeli salad for €16).

- The Burnt Eggplants with tahini, mild chili, and za’atar (€9), with an incredible cooking method that you must try if you like this vegetable. One of the signature dishes of the house!

- The Ashke Livers, with poultry livers, onions, and egg (€10), for those who like liver, obviously, because the taste is quite distinct (we personally like it with the favorite photographer)…

- The Latkes, potato pancakes (€7), a dish quite surprising in terms of texture, as it is very crispy and we liked it a lot.

- The Gambas sautéed with garlic and Arak with toasted bread (€12).

- The Shakshouka, a tomato and pepper ratatouille with chili and egg (€10 or €15 depending on the size).

- For dessert (even though we weren’t hungry at all), we still wanted to taste one of the house specialties, the Malabi (€7), a traditional Middle Eastern treat based on rose. During another visit, I also tested the Choco Blitz, a chocolate ganache with homemade praline (€8) or even Babka (MaMi Deli), a braided brioche filled with chocolate and pecans (€8).

- As for drinks, the house offers cocktails (between €8 and €12) but also a nice selection of wines (notably by the glass between €6 and €8).
The little extra: The bread served is of super high quality; it comes from local bakeries or is the traditional bread from the Benoit Castel bakery.
The hot tip: lunch time from Tuesday to Friday with a plate at €12 or plate + dessert at €16
Thanks to Blitz for this invitation.
