Goûts d’Yvelines 2015

I previously told you about the first two editions, so it is with pleasure that I present to you today the third edition of Goûts d’Yvelines, a unique public event focused on gastronomy, organized by Yvelines Tourisme in collaboration with the Yvelines General Council.

This event will take place over two weekends, from November 14th to November 22nd, 2015, to highlight the expertise of Yvelines chefs and the region’s local products (mushrooms, snails, smoked fish, market garden produce, beers…). Conviviality, well-being, and healthy eating will be the keywords for this event.

As a teaser for the Christmas holidays, this unifying event will bring together the public for a little over a week, alongside food professionals, restaurateurs, artisans, and producers—including its patron, Simone Zanoni, chef at the Trianon Palace—in an atmosphere of sharing and generosity.

On the program: cooking classes, demonstrations, tastings of local products, behind-the-scenes tours, gourmet shops, culinary contests, and taste discoveries.

Special Goûts d’Yvelines menus will also be offered throughout the duration of the event by local restaurateurs.

MelleBonPlan’s little selection:

  • Stroll through the workshop village with a chef’s area to meet chefs Simone Zanoni (Trianon Palace Versailles), Laurent Delarbre (Tour d’Argent), and Grégory Balland (Cazaudehore La Forestière) on November 15th, at Place de la cathédrale Saint-Louis in Versailles.

  • Celebrate local products and short supply chains across 3 major markets (Mantes-la-Jolie / Château de la Madeleine in Chevreuse / Ferme de Grignon in Thivernal-Grignon).
  • Participate in workshops with great chefs, pastry chefs, bakers, and other artisans.
  • Visit the family-run Viltain Farm in Jouy-en-Josas, which has been producing dairy products since the 50s (yogurts, milk, and fromage blanc). Today, it has a herd of 350 Prim’ Holstein dairy cows and employs 42 staff members in total. You can also visit to go fruit picking (mainly apples) and vegetable harvesting.
