I have already mentioned the Hôtel Banke on the blog several times, particularly to introduce you to its bar, Lolabar, and its summer terrace when the weather is nice, and I also introduced you to its restaurant in 2016 in a dedicated article.
For those who don’t know this luxurious 5-star boutique hotel belonging to the Spanish group Derby Hotels Collection, the establishment stands out for its history and décor. Located in the Opéra Garnier district, just a stone’s throw from the major department stores on Boulevard Haussmann and Place Vendôme, Hôtel Banke is a place worth discovering. Formerly the headquarters of a bank, its 20th-century building gives it a truly atypical soul.

In this superb setting, the establishment features a gourmet restaurant serving French cuisine with some Iberian flourishes, Le Josefin. The menu is crafted by Chef Romain Roland, who invites us on a taste-based journey between France and Spain.

The setting is very chic and the golden benches are very comfortable (and plus, we have space to put our bags down, girls, which is rather nice!).
Must-try:
- A little amuse-bouche to start the meal off right.

- For the appetizer, the extra semi-cooked duck foie gras with citrus fruits, timut pepper, and corn bread (€18).

- Another appetizer with ravioli (Asian-style) of red prawns in a shellfish broth, scented with Sancho berries (€24).

- From the land, succulent braised Iberian pork cheeks with truffled potato gnocchi (€30).

- From the sea, scallops from the Bay of Seine accompanied by whole leeks sautéed in butter, sprinkled with crushed chestnuts and diced dates (€37). In the photo, it was just a tasting portion and not the “regular” dish for your information.

- For dessert, I was completely won over by the tangy Dome with yuzu, basil, a candied lemon biscuit, and a citrus caramel (€12).

- For wine, a nice selection of Spanish wines in particular, and as an aperitif, we discovered Cava Perelada (€8 per glass), a sparkling wine produced in Catalonia, but not only…

Menus: appetizer + main course or main course + dessert €39 / appetizer + main course + dessert €45
The extra touch: the owner of the Derby Hotels Collection group, Mr. Jordi Clos, exhibits part of his personal art collection in each of his hotels. He is one of the greatest collectors of ethnic art in Europe. So after your lunch or dinner, don’t hesitate to take a walk through the hotel floors to discover his collection.
The tip: Daily suggestion menu with a glass of wine for €22 at lunch only
Thanks to Hôtel Banke for this invitation.
