I really love this establishment, which I have been frequenting for several years now. It’s the kind of place where I enjoy coming and where I now feel right at home (if only my apartment could have the same decor, by the way!). For a brief introduction, Le Roch Hôtel & Spa is a 5-star boutique hotel with 37 rooms, boasting a home-like feel. Its design is the work of Sarah Lavoine, and it is located in Paris, not far from the Pyramides metro station, just to give you a sense of the area.
It was to discover the Autumn-Winter 2017 menu of the restaurant at Le Roch Hôtel & Spa, created by chef Rémy Bérerd, that we visited this beautiful Parisian establishment for the first time with our favorite photographer. Since then, we have been returning regularly to discover their new offerings with genuine enthusiasm, and I must say we have never been disappointed. As soon as you step into the lobby, you instantly leave behind the hustle and bustle of Paris to find yourself in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant dining room is lit in a very pleasant way by a glass skylight.
As for the food, the Lyon-born chef (yes, my local pride is coming out here!) Rémy Bérerd, offers colorful plates with surprising and particularly successful combinations of flavors. Ultimately, this results in dishes that are extremely refined without failing to be bold; in short, as you will have gathered, we were totally won over! And since autumn 2022, it is chef Serge Jouanin who has been presiding over the kitchen. As for the service, it is impeccable—worthy of a grand hotel but without being stiff, maintaining that warm and welcoming vibe.

The Winter Cabin at the Roch Hôtel & Spa
For the winter season, the Roch Hôtel & Spa offers a cabin set up on the establishment’s interior terrace every year, with a different theme each time. In 2018/2019 it was a Slavic cabin, in 2019/2020 it was the Khaïma oasis in a Moroccan setting, and in 2020/2021 (the year the chalet unfortunately closed prematurely) and 2021/2022 (since October 25, 2021) it has been a mountain chalet.
This little haven of peace, in the heart of the urban desert of our bustling capital, is accessible only by private booking and is decorated every year with great taste by Sarah Poniatowski-Lavoine, like the rest of the hotel, for that matter. For the Petit Chalet, we find a cozy atmosphere of a small mountain refuge where you feel good and reassured, like a little cocoon of comfort, adorned with objects collected during winter hikes: old skis, sled and wooden bench, milk churn, mountain bell, antler chandelier…
On the menu at Le Petit Chalet winter 2021/2022: for starters, a butternut squash velouté, chestnut cappuccino, and candied kumquat; then an IGP raw milk raclette from Maison Edmond (a goat milk raclette is also available upon request) with a selection of charcuterie, green salad, and house pickles, all accompanied by ratte potatoes cooked in a smoked broth; for dessert, the Mont-Blanc with chestnuts and blueberries (which, believe me, is extremely light and perfectly finishes off this generous meal); herbal infusions with fresh herbs to help with digestion / as for wines, don’t hesitate to follow the sommelier’s suggestion.
And for those who aren’t fans of raclette, it is also perfectly possible to have lunch and dinner at Le Petit Chalet using the restaurant menu created by Chef Rémy Bérerd, or to book it for informal meetings or business gatherings.

A la carte at the restaurant in 2017
To mix pleasures and discover the maximum number of dishes, we mixed the meal with a lunch menu on one side and a la carte dishes on the other.
- A small amuse-bouche with clams au gratin with butter, which really got our appetites going!
- As an a la carte starter, the smoked sirloin carpaccio with hazelnuts, girolles, and arugula (€18); the meat is incredibly fine and the combination of flavors is a delight!
- The starter from the lunch menu, a new potato salad with avruga eggs, which reminded me of the Lyonnaise cuisine of my childhood…
- For the main course, we were adventurous and tested one of the chef’s specialties, the grilled octopus with piquillos, corn, and a paprika emulsion (€29). This dish is a real success and it completely reconciles you with octopus for those who might have had bad experiences; a must-try!
- The main course from the lunch menu with the supreme of poultry, butternut squash cream, heirloom vegetables, and curry emulsion.
- For dessert, we loved the chestnut and poached quince with crumble and muscovado whiskey ice cream (€14), light and tasty.
- For the menu’s dessert, we let ourselves be tempted by the palette of seasonal fruits and its sorbet (€14).
- A small coffee, essential to finish a good lunch (well, from my point of view, obviously!).
- As for wine, the establishment offers some very fine references and lovely discoveries (let yourself be advised!), with a small selection of wines by the glass (between €11 and €14).

The great deal: the lunch menu (also available on Saturdays) starter + main course or main course + dessert at €31 / starter + main course + dessert at €36

The terrace at the Roch Hôtel & Spa
In summer, chef Remy Bererd invites us to enjoy the establishment’s superb hidden terrace. On the program for this summer menu, simple but refined cuisine with excellent products that is always concocted by the chef. I am still just as much of a fan of his colorful plates, which make you want to savor them as soon as they arrive on the table!
As a bonus, the hotel’s charming hidden terrace is located in the center of the establishment, nestled in a patch of greenery just above the central room where we had eaten the first time we visited.

Thanks to the Roch Hôtel & Spa for these invitations.
