It was while discovering and testing bars for my article on cocktail bars that I realized I needed to create a separate article for hotel bars in Paris, because they truly form a distinct but very interesting category within that same subject. After a first post on this theme last year, I’ve gathered a new selection of cozy and intimate spots here for you. For one, that’s often the atmosphere created by Parisian hotels, and also because I particularly appreciate dimly lit ambiances when I’m having a triple S drink (insiders will understand), even more so if I’m in good company…

Hôtel Edouard 7: Bar l’E7
Once again, here is a hotel located on Avenue de l’Opéra, a few meters from the magnificent Charles Garnier building, which I have already mentioned on the blog, especially for its restaurant. Today I’m bringing up the subject again to talk to you about its Bar l’E7. The establishment’s new bartender, Evangélie, has just released her cocktail menu and we’ve tested a few of them… On the menu: a selection of well-thought-out and original non-alcoholic cocktails (€14) and Signature cocktails (€17).
We tested:
- The S’heaven, with cognac, mandarin cream, vanilla, and champagne.
- The Cherry Cash, with Bourbon, Cointreau, sour cherry syrup, rosemary, and cherry bitters.
- The Rhum Berries, with amber rum, Maraschino liqueur, Crème de Cassis, raspberry juice, and rhubarb bitters.
- The Japan tea, with green tea infused vodka, yuzu lemon, Umeshu liqueur, and plum juice (served in a very original way in a teapot, as you can see).

Hôtel Westminster: Duke’s Bar
This 4-star Parisian hotel, despite its very British name, is hidden behind a Haussmannian facade on Rue de la Paix in the Opéra district and keeps the memory of one of the oldest hotels in the capital. Last summer, 28 rooms were completely renovated and transformed into Signature Rooms and Suites. As a bonus, this beautiful address also has a restaurant, Le Céladon, headed by Chef Christophe Moisand, who can boast of having a Michelin star for 30 years now, so it’s worth trying…
The little extra of their rooms: a unique creation for their guests via the bespoke crafting of a Signature cocktail according to their tastes. Each creation is concocted by the Duke’s Bar team and supervised by Gérard, the Head Bartender. Of course, even if you aren’t a hotel guest, you can still ask for your signature cocktail at the establishment’s bar.

Hôtel Les Bulles: the champagne bar
Champagne bars are quite rare in Paris. I had already mentioned the one at Movenpick Neuilly in my previous article, and I discovered another one (also a hotel bar, as you might notice) in the heart of the capital this time. Dressed in black and gold, the Bar à Champagne Les Bulles de Paris is the perfect place to enjoy a glass with your partner or friends. In this space with its intimate atmosphere, you can savor one of the forty references on offer.
The menu features prestigious Houses, of course (Moët et Chandon, Ruinart, Taittinger, Veuve Clicquot, Krug, Roederer, or even Dom Pérignon), but also more confidential Houses (Jacques Lassaigne champagne from organic viticulture, Bruno Paillard champagne vinified in a solera over 20 years old, the prestigious “Grands Blancs” Cuvée from the House of Gosset, aged 3 years in the cellar, the family House Egly Ouriet, whose Brut Rosé Nature Cuvée is a benchmark among connoisseurs, or even the Les Bulles de Paris cuvée, a single-varietal Blanc de Blancs).

Price: between €10 and €26 per glass / between €50 and €295 per bottle

Hôtel de Sers: the S’Bar
Same group but another Parisian hotel, the Hôtel de Sers, which I have also mentioned on the blog, also offers its new cocktail menu with a selection of creations by the establishment’s barmaid, Timothy Saux. To accompany the cocktails, you can opt for a few plates of tapas, such as cod fritters with a spicy sauce (€15), or, more reasonably, crunchy vegetables with an olive oil dip (€12).
We tested:
- The Ginger tea, gin infused with ginger and rosemary, lime, melon syrup, mint, and iced tea.
- The 1790, red port with almond syrup, peach juice, and champagne.
- The French, with elderflower (which I’m a fan of), orange juice, vermouth, raspberry cream, and champagne.

Hôtel Banke: the Bar
The Hôtel Banke, a magnificent 5-star boutique hotel housed in a historic 19th-century building (a former bank) and located in the Opéra district, is an establishment I have mentioned several times on the blog, last summer regarding its summer terrace and at the very beginning of the year to introduce you to its Josefin restaurant. Recently, the hotel’s bar, the Lolabar, has been offering a very beautiful range of cocktails based on Gin & Tonic, served in the purest tradition of the Spanish “copa”. As a brief historical reminder, Gin & Tonic was the iconic drink of the British Empire in the 18th century and is offered here by a team of experts, who have a wide selection of nearly 100 gins discovered in the four corners of the world.

Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe: The Makassar Bar
The bar at the Renaissance Arc de Triomphe (I had already mentioned it in the first article) is a very beautiful place with contemporary design and a small lounge atmosphere, perfect for starting the evening and having a high-quality cocktail. These are designed and carefully prepared by the head bartender, Mégane Dubosclard, and her team. From March 1st to April 30th, the Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe and the young cider brand Sassy are partnering to offer 2 fresh and original cocktails for the spring season.
- The first cocktail is composed of Martini Gold, white port, and Sassy rosé, all rounded and voluptuous.
- The second was created based on Sassy pear cider, with white Lillet and green Chartreuse, giving it a more tangy edge.

The tip: for sunny days, the bar also has a small terrace hidden behind the building. If the weather permits, I recommend you go sip your mixture there.
